KASHMIR
ACADEMY

Kashmir Academy, the educational division of KwF, offers hands-on workshops tailored for students, educators, and conservationists. Our workshops focus on designing, fabricating, and developing custom drones integrated with AI for practical, real-world applications.

Teachers Take Flight Workshop

Teachers Take Flight inspires and prepares educators to empower students in solving real world challenges in a diverse and collaborative environment through the integration of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education that applies autonomous unmanned aerial systems (UASs).

Fly for Conservation Workshop

When the mind and body engage in kinesthetic learning, the spirit promotes critical thinking. Effective change requires the ability to explore and experiment beyond the ordinary.

SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIPS

SuperHero Drone Girls Workshops

A hands-on, innovative STEM drone workshop that empowers  girls through critical thinking and collaboration via design, fabrication, &
operation of a drone with a mission focus to develop solutions for real world challenges.

Vehicle Sketch Pad NASA

Audio is does not correspond exactly with the slides. Please watch our other version: http://youtu.be/gK8nBB9tezU NASA has open sourced Vehicle Sketch Pad (VSP), a geometry modeling tool for conceptual aircraft design. The software rapidly models aircraft configurations without expending the expertise required for traditional Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages. Further development of OpenVSP software will stimulate economic opportunity in aviation and aerospace. Presenter: Mark Moore Mark D. Moore has worked for NASA for 29 years, the entire time focusing on conceptual design studies and analysis tools relating to advanced aircraft concepts. He received his Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Stanford University and is currently completing his PhD at Georgia Tech. His research focus has been on powered-lift vehicles, specializing in smaller vehicle classes with open prop-rotor and ducted propulsors. His current research focuses on understanding how to best integrate the emerging technology area of electric propulsion and automation to achieve breakthrough aviation vehicle capabilities. He has authored many technical publications promoting a future vision of distributed and on-demand aviation, with his recent papers highlighting the disruptive technology capabilities of electric propulsion to fundamentally alter current aviation capabilities. Currently his research efforts include advanced concepts relating to On-Demand Mobility, Aerial Robotics, Atmospheric Satellites, and Airborne Wind Turbines. www.openvsp.org

DaVinci Challenge: Build a Drone Workshop Saving Wildlife

The Crime Museum, in partnership with Kashmir World Foundation, is giving visitors a hands-on approach to learning the important role drones play in illegal wildlife trafficking around the world. Princess Aliyah Pandolfi, Founder of Kashmir World Foundation, came in to speak about the Exhibit with a DaVinci Challenge intern from Grey Golla. DaVinci Challenge: Build a Drone Workshop helps students see robotic aircraft from a broader perspective. Through the workshop we can train students and teachers in the design, fabrication, customization, and operation of small robotic aircraft. It is an excellent blend of science, technology, art, engineering and math (STEM/STEAM). Students learn about 3D printing, integration of robotic systems, and flying techniques as they build a quadcopter or hexacopter in an actively engaging handson and innovative workshop. With guest speakers from the Federal Aviation Authority(FAA), Academy of Model Aeronautics, and local Maker Spaces, we have graduated over 100 students with a "Drone Operator Certificate."
