Da Vinci Challenge: Flight Day Event to be hosted at Foxcroft School
Middleburg, Va— On Sunday, May 3, 2015, scholars of Kashmir World Foundation’s Da Vinci Challenge: Build a Drone Workshop will be flying their completed drones at the Foxcroft School for Girls. KWF thanks Foxcroft School for allowing us to host this event on their 500 acres of property—ideal for drone flights! The school is located at 22407 Foxhound Lane. The event will start at 11:30 am and go until 4:30 p.m.
DaVinci scholars have spent the last few weeks learning about aviation and emerging technology while designing and building their own drones. The program emphasizes creativity, innovation, and technology application. The Flight Day Event will include guest speakers, drone demonstrations, and of course, the Award Ceremony. This is when participants will have an opportunity to fly their completed drones and receive their Drone Operators Certificate. Come out to the event to learn about new drone technology, its applications, and how to get involved with the project. Spend the Sunday afternoon enjoying the beautiful scenery at Foxcroft School and learning about emerging technology and its applications. Check out what DaVinci scholars have been working on for the last few weeks and learn how to get involved. The Flight Day Event is open to the general public at no cost, so bring the whole family!
This particular Flight Day will be for two different workshops, so we are expecting a large turn-out of participants, friends, and family members. We are graduating 40 scholars from three different private schools, as well as several groups of parent-children teams. It’s going to be a wonderfully diverse crowd! If you plan on attending, you can register for the event at the kashmirworldfoundation.org home page. For more information regarding either the Flight Day Event or the Build a Drone Workshop, you can go to the Kashmir World Foundation website, or contact Lauren Rogers for questions regarding either.
